On July 12, 2024, the world said goodbye to a remarkable individual, Ruby Lee Bergeron, whose life touched many in profound ways. Born on February 8, 1940, in Freeport FL, Ruby's journey came to a peaceful close at her home in Middleburg, FL surrounded by her family.
Ruby led a diverse and impactful career, spanning various fields. She dedicated many years to student placement at FSCJ while also leveraging her financial expertise as a CPA. In addition to her roles in education and finance, Ruby's passion for nurturing young minds led her to serve as a substitute teacher for Duval County. Furthermore, she shared ownership of Wesley Manor Beauty Shop, where she not only pursued her professional endeavors but also fostered connections within the community.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ruby found joy and fulfillment in numerous hobbies and interests. Known for her love of shopping, especially for jewelry, she had an eye for elegance that resonated with all who knew her. Her fondness for collecting dolls reflected a nostalgic charm that endeared her to many. Ruby's adventurous spirit took her across borders as she explored different countries, creating memories that enriched her life. A skilled cake decorator, she infused creativity and sweetness into every occasion she celebrated.
Ruby will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Holly Spence, her cherished grandchildren Dawson Keith Spence and Bailey Morgan Spence, as well as her great-granddaughter, Ariella Marie Spence, aka Chunk. Additionally, she leaves behind her special niece Linda (Dennis) Robinson and their children Erica Mason and Genera Roop, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Laura Allen; her husband, Walter Bergeron; and sisters, Charlotte (Joe) Langley and Dixie (Bill) Stone.
Services to honor and celebrate Ruby's life will be held on July 19, 2024, at the Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler, FL. A visitation will begin at 11:00am followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. The Interment will occur at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens in Jacksonville at 2:30pm on the same day.
