Ruby Blevins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tetrick Rhododendron Chapel - Roan Mountain on Apr. 16, 2026.
Ruby Blevins, age 84, of Roan Mountain, TN, went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2026, from her daughter's residence. Ruby was born in Elizabethton on May 26, 1941, to the late Jerry Campbell and Elizabeth Ashley Campbell. In addition to her parents, Ruby was also preceded in death by her husband, Jonas Herman Blevins, Sr; her daughter, Gail Clark; her siblings: Bill Campbell, Lillian Turbyfill and Cheryl Turbyfill.

Ruby Blevins was a devoted mother and a woman of deep and abiding faith, rooted in her Baptist beliefs. She found great joy in life's simple blessings, especially tending to her flowers and garden, where her remarkable green thumb brought beauty to everything she touched. Ruby cherished her family above all else, and her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident in every moment she shared with them. She also held a special bond with her brothers and sisters, treasuring the time and memories they created together. Ruby will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her nurturing heart, and the lasting love she gave so freely to those around her.

Those left to honor and cherish the memory of Ruby include her daughter, Sandra Horney (Steve), of Banner Elk, NC; son, Jonas Blevins, Jr. (Holly), of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren: Sabrina, Ashley, Liesse, Dillon and Cody; great-grandchildren: Mason, Camden, Ryker, Cooper, Declan, Eli, Kaden, Ava, Emberly and Scarlett; siblings: Shelby, Barbara, Ruth, Marie, Ken, Jerry, and Randy; several nieces, nephew and other extended family also survive.

The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home – Rhododendron Chapel on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 1:00PM until 3:00PM.

The graveside service and interment will take place following the visitation in Isaac's Cemetery with Rev. Justin Stines officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

The family of Ruby would like to extend a special thank you to all the family and friends that have shown their love, care and support during this difficult time.
