Ruby Lucille Crosby Carpenter earned her wings on Friday, December 6,2024.
She was born on September 15,1960 at 1lb 11oz, at Hamot Hospital. Oldest daughter to the late Sara Jean Kinnard Crosby and John Crosby Sr. (Bud).
Ruby was a lifelong resident of
Erie, Pennsylvania. This Warrior Fought the Fight- obtained TB at 2years old and was given 6 months. "But GOD". Hospice thanks But "GOD"
Ruby graduated from Tech Memorial High School, was a former member of Greater Calvary Church, in which she attended until her sickness took over.
Ruby worked as a hostess at Smugglers Wharf as a teen, she also worked for Mayflower. She absolutely loved her family. Ruby enjoyed cooking, baking and being a housewife and homemaker. She loved knitting, sewing and listening to gospel music, her (favorite "The Williams Brothers"). When Ruby loved you, she Loved You! Ruby enjoyed teaching her granddaughter how to bake. She was so excited to sit with them, the joy of coming to grandmas to bake.
She will be greatly missed.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Crosby Jr., James Aland Crosby and BrianLee Phillip Crosby. One sister Ada Anne Elizabeth Crosby. Maternal grandparents Willie Kinnard Sr. And Ruby Jones Kinnard, Paternal grandparents Gaston and Lucille Crosby.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 40+ years Larry C. Carpenter. Three boys Cashawn (Shelby) Carpenter, Troy (Anna) Carpenter and Trey Carpenter. Nine siblings sisters Minister Jannette Crosby of Conyers, GA.,Tara S. Pinkston, Rothrock (Brian). Snowie Crosby of
Erie, PA., Barbara Crosby- Dorsey (Michael Sr.), Robert L. Crosby Sr. (Kim) of
Pittsburgh, PA., Russell Crosby of
Erie, PA., Jarald Crosby of Harrisburg and Melvin (Lee) Crosby and Michael Crosby of
Erie, PA.
Ruby also leaves to cherish her stepdaughter Carrletta Carpenter, Ruby loved her like she was her own. Thankyou Carri for loving and caring for her like you did. Her nine grandchildren, aunts Verna Mae Beard and Lilly (John) Hopkins. Uncles Willie Kinnard Jr. And Calvin W. Kinnard Sr. and stepchildren Carrletta, Felice and Larry Jr. A host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her caregiver of many years, her companion, her dear friend Emma. There are absolutely no words to say to the both of you for all you did for her. A special mention to Russell Crosby (brother) for always showing up to clean her, care for her in her sickness, also being that void of loneliness, watching movies and being there for her in her darker times.
A public viewing will be held at House of Paradise Cremation & Funeral Services Inc.
