Ruby McDannels Coberly

Ruby McDannels Coberly, age 98 years, a resident of the Files Creek Community, Beverly, WV departed this life early Monday morning, May 12, 2025 at the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center at Elkins, WV. She had been in declining health.
She was born Sunday, May 23, 1926 at Beverly, WV a daughter of the late James Bucky McDannels and Viola Clifton Gibson McDannels. On June 28, 1946 at Elkins, WV she was married to Ray Harley Coberly, who preceded her in death July 18, 2001. They had celebrated fifty-five years of marriage. Surviving are two sons, Harley Ray Coberly and wife Linda, Lost Creek, Edward Allen Coberly and wife Linda of Montrose; five grandchildren, Nicholas Shawn Coberly, Danielle Linnette Mallow, Gary Lynn Coberly, Christopher Allen Coberly, and David Ray Coberly; nine great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Ruby was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death are one son, Gary Lynn Coberly; one daughter, Dianna Faye Sanders; five brothers, William Tucker Gibson, Roy Junior McDannels, Ray Scott McDannels, James George McDannels, and Robert Lee McDannels; and three sisters, Ruth Daniels Teter Bolton, Iva Jane McDannels, Edna Elizabeth Daniels Mullanex.
Ruby was a graduate of Beverly High School with the Class of 1946, and was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, canning and gardening. She was a Christian by faith. She was a loving and caring "Grandma" to five wonderful grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, who will miss her tremendously. Ruby was a very caring and giving individual.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 15, 2025. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday, at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Kevin Gainer will officiate and interment will follow at the American Legions Little Arlington Cemetery at Cravensdale, WV.
