Ruby Cooper Obituary
Mrs. Ruby Velma Cooper, age 90 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Dyer Nursing Home & Rehab. Funeral services for Mrs. Cooper will be conducted on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2PM in the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Tharp officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born January 25, 1935, in Cedar Grove, TN; the daughter of the late Arvil & Ruth Scott Brandon. Mrs. Cooper worked as a lunchroom attendant at Gibson County High School before her retirement. She attended Dyer Church of Christ.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by daughter, Vickie McCoy; three grandchildren, Chasity Langston, Stephanie Ball, Derek Harper; and seven great-grandchildren, Cydney Hopper, Jayden Ball, Braylen Ball, Tristan Ball, Caitlin Harper, McKenzie Harper, and Alex Barkley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Cooper; daughter, Belinda Davis; and sister, Kay Myers.
Pallbearers serving are Jason Langston, Cody Hopper, Deatrix Ball, Justin Allen, Jayden Ball, and Jesse McCoy. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Weatherford, Chris Barkley, and Bubba Cooper.
The family will receive friends from 12PM-2PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Ruby Velma Cooper.
