Ruby Dolores Delgado, age 66, a cherished resident of Dickinson, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 21, 1958, in Pueblo, Colorado, Ruby was the beloved daughter of Juanita Reyes Lopez and John Eccolastico Martinez, and was lovingly guided through life by her father Pete Lopez. Her heart carried the strength, wisdom, and unconditional love of all three.
Ruby was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was found in her family-nurturing them with unwavering love, quiet strength, and a generous spirit that touched everyone she met. She worked as a cashier, known not only for her dedication but for her warm smile and kind presence. Ruby had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and cared for.
She was a woman of deep faith, and her relationship with God was a source of strength, peace, and guidance throughout her life. That faith shaped how she loved, how she served others, and how she faced life's hardest moments-with grace, courage, and hope.
She loved the simple, sacred joys of life: walking barefoot along the beach, collecting seashells and bits of sea glass, listening to the ocean's rhythm, and filling her home with music. The soulful voice of Johnny Rodriguez was often playing in the background, along with her cherished songs by Raul Malo and Michael Bublé-each one echoing her heart.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gloria Jean Greenwood (Kenneth); and her brother, Richard Martinez.
She is survived by her children:
