Ruby F. Fandrey, 87, of Birnamwood, died on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
Ruby was born on August 27, 1938, in Big Falls, the daughter of Henry and Joan (Schroeder) Beyersdorf. After Henry died, Joan married Elmer Bulgrin, and Ruby was very close with her stepfather.
On May 31, 1958, Ruby was united in marriage to Albert Fandrey at St. John Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2011.
Ruby and Albert shared a life of hard work and partnership, farming side by side for 30 years. They especially loved polka dancing together.
Ruby worked at Homme Youth and Family for 38 years as a cook and housekeeper.
Family meant everything to Ruby. She cherished family gatherings and time spent with loved ones, whether at home or at the family cabin in Watersmeet, which held many special memories. She also enjoyed traveling, exploring destinations across the United States and Europe, and taking fun trips to the casino with family.
In her younger years, Ruby enjoyed playing softball and shooting pool. Throughout her life, she found peace and happiness in gardening, tending to both flowers and vegetables, and loved watching birds. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
Ruby had a special place in her heart for her cat, Mitsy, who brought her comfort and companionship.
Ruby is survived by three children, Mike Fandrey, Cheryl Zeinert, and Kevin Fandrey; seven grandchildren, Krystle (Cole) Spiegelberg, April (Brandon) Resch, Shannon (Hailey) Fandrey, Cristy Maltbey, Shawn (Tanya Igl) Zeinert, Andrea (Dave) Rebstock, Kyle (Katelyn Cheyanne) Fandrey; 12 great-grandchildren, Colby, Aubrey and Evelyn Resch, Emersyn Fandrey, Logan Maltbey, Ellie and Kaitlyn Clough, Tatum Igl, Jayden and Mason Zeinert, Vincent and Ali Rebstock; siblings, Bruce (Gayle) Beyersdorf, James (Shirley) Beyersdorf, Joyce (Ron) Frank, David Beyersdorf, Vilas Beyersdorf, Bonnie (Anton) Bender, Gale (April) Beyersdorf, Gene (Diane) Beyersdorf and Milan (Nancy) Beyersdorf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Deborah Beyersdorf, Herbert (Noreen) Fandrey, Marvin Fandrey and Adeline Fandrey and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Joan; step-father, Elmer; her brother, Dale Beyersdorf and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. Vicar Jim Hartleben will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, in the Town of Almon. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 9 AM until the time of service at the church.
