71, Wichita, KS, died Friday, August 18, 2023. She was born November 12, 1951 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Rubel Hastings and Donna J. Perner. She married Thomas L. Fisher on January 18, 1969 in El Paso, Texas who survives of the home. Family was very important to Ruby who enjoyed having Sunday dinners with all of her family. They were the most important in her life to her. She was a lady of many talents which included sewing, crocheting blankets for all the new babies and cooking. Her favorite pastimes were to bake with her granddaughter Jordan & sew dresses for her great granddaughter Grace. When she visited family in Missouri her favorite place to eat was Steak & Shake and in Wichita it was Taco Shop. She was employed many years at Sears and Things Remembered. She enjoyed working with the staff and developed life long friendships there. She attended the First Baptist Church in Belle Plains, KS, taking part in the Women's Sunday School class and the Tuesday Bible Study. Ruby is survived by her children: Donna Farris, Thomas (Melissa) Fisher Jr., and Betty Fisher, all of Wichita, KS as well as Chrissey Scroggins, of Augusta, KS; grandchildren, Tyler & Levi Farris, Danica (William) Jackson, Thomas Fisher III & Jordan Fisher, Carie (Mike) Fulkerson, Preston Fisher -Plummer, Alora Plummer, Ash (Jessi) Fisher, Shawn (Jessica) Scroggins Jr., Samantha (Joe) Wilson and Jasmyn Scroggins. Great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Joshuah, Noah, Elijiah, Mykailah, Abryella & Rowynn Fulkerson, Landon & Malikai Newman, Brody Archer, Graceleigh Jackson, Grace, Elijah & Noah Wilson; sisters, Carol Altman, Wichita, KS and El Rose Marie Hallock, San Diego, CA. Preceded in death were her parents, sister, Deloris Meade; granddaughters, Lauren Farris, Neaveh Plummer and great grand children, Jeremiah & Serenaty Fulkerson. Services for Ruby will be held Saturday, September 2nd at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Belle Plaine, Kansas with a dinner to follow. Officiating the services will be Jeremiah Orr.
