Mrs. Ruby Headrick Flournoy, age 97, of Luthersville, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Flournoy was born May 10, 1928, in Ranburne, Alabama, daughter of the late Lawson W. Headrick and Frances Eudora Burdette Headrick. She was employed by Callaway Mills and retired from J. C. Penney after 28 years of service in Atlanta and LaGrange. She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed visiting the mountains and the Florida beaches. Mrs. Flournoy was a member of Greenville Baptist Church, was a talented seamstress, and loved working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her daughter, DuLinda Hancock (Jerry) of Fairburn; daughters in-law, Connie Flournoy of Greenville, Debbie Flournoy of Luthersville; grandchildren, Jerald Hancock, Shelly Welborn (Grady), Chad Flournoy, Lori Jennings (Brian), Ashley Flournoy (Lisa); eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Flournoy; and her sons, Donald Flournoy and Mike Flournoy, and a great-great-granddaughter, Gabrella Flournoy.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jonathan Porter and the Reverend John Pape will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5.
