Ruby Jean “Jeanie” Gehring, 62, of Scott, Arkansas passed away May 20, 2023. She was born in Anchorage, Alaska on June 25, 1960, to William Wayne “Bill” and Ida (McNair) Rowan.
Jeanie is survived by her parents; siblings, Vicki Junkin, Renée Brainos (Marcus), Jeff Rowan (Kara); nieces and nephews, Stephanie Wulfekuhl (Colin), Christopher Brainos (Moriah), Philippe Brainos (Tabbitha), Morgan Flores (Ben), KaLynn Fisher, Karlie Fisher, and Josie Hall; great nieces and nephews, Tatiana Luther (Clay), Brice and Kinsley Wulfekuhl, Arissabeth and Maverick Brainos, Asher and Waverly Flores, Sylas and Abel Salazar, and Colton Fournier; and chosen family, Santiago Salazar and Liam Randleas and a host of family and friends.
Jeanie retired from the United States Postal Service after 35 years. She was an avid bingo player who was dearly loved by the many friends she met over the years of playing. Jeanie never wanted to be the center of attention, but she was always in the center of the kitchen and her food was always mentioned. She was famous for her poppyseed chicken, banana pudding, and strawberry cake. Jeanie will be dearly missed as a faithful member of New Life Ministries in North Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanie’s name to New Life Ministries building fund (12506 Hwy 165, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117).
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street). Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers are her great nieces and nephews.
