Ruby Passmore Haskett

Ms. Ruby Passmore Haskett, 98, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025. Ms. Ruby was born April 30, 1927, in Jackson County, NC to the late Johnny Coleman Passmore and Elise Palmer Passmore. She was the wife of the late Mitchell Haskett who preceded her.

Ms. Ruby worked in the cotton mill industry, was a homemaker, loved gardening, canning, knitting, quilting, and working in her flowers. She loved to visit family and friends with her husband, Mitchell and in later years as she was able. She attended Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura Ann Hall; and many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by a daughter, Elise Evelyn Haskett; four sons, Charles, Dewey, Ned, and Johnny Haskett; a sister, Lola Belle Passmore; seven brothers, Henry, Daniel Herman, Junior, Ernest, Vance, and Leonard Passmore; and a son-in-law, Dewight Hall.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Grant Chapel at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Fox officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
