Ruby Lee (Graves) Howard, 89, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Sunday, March 30th, at Monroe County Medical Center.
Ruby was born in Turkey Neck Bend in Monroe County, KY on July 5, 1935, a daughter of the late Ree (High) and Joe Lee Graves.
On September 1, 1956, she married Robert Howard at the home of Ross Spear. Robert preceded her in death on July 4, 2008.
Ruby was a member of Mt. Gilead Church of Christ. She worked at Production Credit Association (PCA) for over 40 years. After her retirement, she worked as a clerk for the City of Tompkinsville, a custodian for Monroe County Schools and at Hardee's as the biscuit maker. Ruby enjoyed gardening and canning, flowers and especially her family.
Ruby is survived by a daughter, Cathey Owen, of Tompkinsville, KY; a son, Joe Howard, of Hendersonville, TN; four grandchildren, Carly Howard, Lorie Estes (Adam), Lesa Owen and Logan Owen; seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Eli and Lydia Estes, Madison and Andrew Denton, Stella and Evan Stutz.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Truman Graves and Paul Edward Graves, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 1st at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Monday, 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruby's memory may be made to Helping Monroe.
