Ruby Cecilia Kohl, 91, of Hamilton, formerly of
Reading, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Waterville Residential Care Center.
She was born on August 8, 1934, in Reading, PA, a daughter of the late George W. and Bernice R. (Paup) Amsbaugh, where she received her education in Reading Schools. She married Raymond K. Kohl.
Ruby worked for the R.H. Palmer Candy Company, W. Reading, PA, Boscov's Department Store, Reading, PA, PAWS of PA, and was a private cook for a Pennsylvania family, preparing comforting homemade dishes.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hamilton, a Junior Girl Scout and Brownie Leader.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law; Kathy and Robert Steiner of Earlville; her grandchildren; William and Kristine Steiner of Dahn, Germany, Christy and Terrance Christian Albert Phipps of Spotsylvania, VA, Robin and George McGrew, III of Temple, PA; great-grandchildren, Madison and Ben Steiner, Terrance and Lila Phipps, George IV and Adam McGrew, a nephew Ricky Amsbaugh and niece Mary Weinhold
She was predeceased by her son Keith Kohl, and brother William J. Amsbaugh.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Cemetery NY-12B, Hamilton, NY 13346.
