DYER CHAPEL - Ruby Nell Looper, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of the Putnam County community, passed away on Tuesday January 27, 2026, at NHC of Cookeville. Born on March 13, 1943, in Putnam County, TN, Ruby lived a life filled with faith, love, and dedication to her family.
A woman of strong Christian values, Ruby was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. She was deeply loved for her faith and kindness.
Ruby is survived by her daughter Cathy Looper Territo; her step daughter Bonnie Brown and her step son, Don Looper, and his wife Lisa; her sisters, June Lafever and husband Carl, and Faye Newby; her brothers, Roy Haney, William (Bud) Haney and his wife Reba, and Jim Haney and his wife Maryann; as well as a legacy of grandchildren, including Shane Brown and his wife Jakara, Tony Brown and his wife Mataia, Matthew Looper, Amanda Hunter and her husband Derek, Kevin Marshall, and Olivia Mitchell. Additionally, Ruby delighted in her great-grandchildren: Braiden Brown, Courtney Brown, Cora Brown, Jordan Brown, Jace Brown, Jaylin Hunter, Haley Hunter, Mason Brewer, Derica Hunter, and Jaztin Hunter, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Haney and Ola Mae Webb; her first husband, Fred Robinson; her second husband, Doyle Looper; her sister, Mazelle Smith; and her beloved grandson, Marcus Looper. These individuals hold a significant place in Ruby's heart, and she carried their memories with her throughout her life.
As a devoted homemaker, Ruby not only nurtured her immediate family but also created a warm and loving home that welcomed all who entered. Her legacy of love will continue to inspire those who knew her. Ruby Nell Looper will be remembered fondly for her strength, faith, and the unwavering love she shared with her family and friends.
