Ms. Ruby Ruthie Mae Conley, 79, of Smyrna, Georgia formerly of Vinings, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church, 810 Church Street, Smyrna, Georgia 30080. The body will lie in state in the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens, 581 Veterans Memorial Hwy SE, Mableton, Georgia 30126.
Ruby Ruthie Mae Conley, a loving mother, grandmother, mother in love, sister, aunt, and friend was born on May 31, 1943. This beautiful day marked the beginning of a 79-year masterpiece that ended peacefully on September 21, 2022. Ruby was born in Cobb County to the late Corine Summlin and George Thomas Conley, Sr.
Ruby was educated in the Vinings/Smyrna area and by the Cobb County School System, graduating from Lemon Street High School in 1961.
A sketch of Ruby's life shows the depth of her love in the field of nursing. Ruby worked over 40 years at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta Ga, Brawner's Hospital, and Brighton Garden in
Smyrna Ga. Ruby was an active member in her church where she studied the teachings of the Bible. She was in the Senior Ministry and lived her life accordingly. She was well respected
and loved by many. Ruby enjoyed crossword puzzles, listening to her favorite playlist on her tablet, and reading her favorite book-The Bible. Ruby's love was felt by anyone and everyone that she came in contact with. Ruby had a contagious smile that could light up any room.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her only sister, Dorothy Echols and brother, John William Conley.
Ruby leaves a legacy of love in our hearts and will always be remembered by her loving children, Wendell Kemp (Malinda) and Curtis Conley (Kenya Walker); her brother, George Conley; her beloved grandchildren, Alexis, Asia, and Jalen Kemp; her nieces and nephews, John William Conley (Barbara), Van Conley, Clara Conley Wright (Melvin), Charlene Conley, Joyce Conley Hughes (Terry); her special friends Lady Rita Jackson (James), Juanita Treadwell, Nyemane Lue Neufville; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is awaiting on the return of her heavenly Father.
