Ruby Lavina Mayne, 96, of Creston, died Saturday September 23, 2006 at the Creston Nursing and Rehab in Creston. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday September 28, 2006 at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Rodney Miller and Pastor Clark Finehout will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen (Jerusalem) Cemetery, northeast of Creston. Open visitation 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorials may be made to the Evergreen Cemetery or the Jerusalem Methodist Church. Ruby Lavina Mayne daughter of Laura Francis (Caviness) and Alden Roy Eggman was born July 14, 1910 in Greenfield, IA. Ruby as a child moved to Creston. Ruby attended Creston Schools. On January 17, 1928 Ruby Married Eldon Leonard Mayne in Albany Mo. Ruby settled on a farm near Creston where she was a dedicated mother, farm wife and homemaker. Ruby was an active member of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church, the Jerusalem Ladies and also was a 4-H Leader. Ruby is survived by: two sons Gerald E. (wife Joan) of Creston and J. Gilmer (wife Reffa) of Afton; two daughters Colleen (husband Kenneth) Miller of Kent and Sheryl J. Wilkie of Sacramento, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eldon in 2000, son-in-law Richard D. Wilkie, a brother Ronald LeRoy Eggman, sister Thelma Eggman and sister-in-law Florence Eggman.
