Ruby Leigh McLemore, 75, of Fayetteville, passed away at her home on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
Born on November 17, 1949, in Cumberland County, Ruby was the youngest child of the late John Henry McLemore and Ollie Moore McLemore. She brought joy and laughter to those around her with her sharp wit, unfiltered honesty, and one-of-a-kind personality.
Ruby had a deep love for Elvis Presley, the Carolina Tar Heels, and NBA basketball, passions she enjoyed sharing with those lucky enough to know her well. She was spirited, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind - qualities that made her unforgettable.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Alice McLemore.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Ann McLemore McCauley and husband Nuel, along with several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory and the legacy of love and laughter she leaves behind.
A private family service will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park.

Ruby and her family lived about 2 doors down from me in that wonderful place in it's day Massey Hill. My sister Joanne and I played with Frances. Alice and Ruby.I remember Ruby as a great playmate. I have often thought of her and her sisters thru the years. I used to see Frances in the grocery store and other common places. They along with parents were wonderful neighbors. Mrs Ollie was so talented with caring for delicate tablecloths my Grandmother Guy had. Three delightful sisters from the Hill. They will live on in my mind and heart.
