Ruby Duane (Ford) McLeod, 82, of Port Wentworth, GA, formerly of Albany, GA, died July 28, 2025, at her residence due to Alzheimer’s Disease. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. Jason Steege will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. McLeod was born on January 3,1943 in Blakely, GA to Robert James and Wille Mae Bonner. She grew up in Edison, GA and graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1961. After marriage, she moved to Albany, GA and worked as a bookkeeper for Pritchett Motors, Inc. She retired in 2003 after working as the bookkeeper at Lee County High School in Leesburg, GA for 26 years. In her retirement, she loved reading, search-a-word puzzles and spending time with family.
Mrs. McLeod moved to Savannah, GA, in 2024 to live with her daughter and son-in-law due to declining health. She was a Christian by faith and attended Heritage Full Gospel in Albany, GA and Radiant Life Christian Fellowship while in Savannah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Lee McLeod and her brothers, William Earl Bonner and Grady Foster Bonner.
Survivors include her children, Pam (Jon) Lawhon of Savannah, GA and Phillip (Shannon) Ford of Albany, GA, a brother, James Bonner of Winder, GA, a grandson, Ryan Lawhon of Savannah, GA and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Compassus Hospice in Savannah, GA, for the care and compassion shown to Duane during her illness.
The family will receive loved ones on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 at Mathews Funeral Home.
