When the time comes to bid this life farewell, we should find comfort in knowing that a loving God will be there with us to guide us to our new home.

Ruby Loreen Moody was born in Bumpass, Virginia on February 2,1939 to the late Wilson Moody Sr. and Annie Johnson Moody. She peacefully departed this life on January 5, 2026, in Culpeper, Virginia.
Ruby graduated from A.G. Richardson School in Louisa, VA. She continued and completed her education at a business school in Washington, D.C.
Ruby was full of hospitality and if you visited her home, she would invite you to have a home cooked meal. She was an amazing cook. Ruby was well traveled and visited many places throughout the United States and Europe.
When Ruby was young, she and her family joined the Holy Church of God, which is now Temple of Deliverance. She was a very dedicated member of the church where she sang and directed the choir. She was also a dedicated member of the Missionary Dept. As a young adult Ruby moved to Temple Hills, Maryland. However, she and her brother, the late Deacon Ernest Moody, made it a point to travel home most weekends to attend worship services, enriching the service through their musical talents.
Ruby was employed by the Federal Government in the Department of Agriculture until her retirement. Although she was happy with her position, she was thrilled when it was retirement time. Her testimony that following Sunday was “I am Free”.
Ruby was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest L. Moody, Wilfred J. Moody, Wilson P. Moody II, and a sister- in- law, Annie P. Moody.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memory two sisters-in-law, Shirley Moody of Orange, VA and Hazel Moody of Clinton, Maryland. Three nieces, Vernice Moody of Fort Washington, Maryland, Andrea Moody of Fort Washington, Maryland, and Jennifer Moody of Dallas, Texas. Ruby is also survived by two nephews, Wilfred Moody II (Deloris) of Spotsylvania, VA, and Wilson Moody, III (Amber) of Aldie, VA. Three great nieces, Jaylyn Moody, Jaynice Moody, and Raven Moody, and two great nephews, Demonte’ Moody and Tyson Moody. A host of cousins including several special cousins, William and Jane Moody, George and Sharon Moody, Dillard and Marie Jackson, Tony Washington, and many friends.
To the Moody family, we at D. D. Watson offer our most sincere sympathy and condolences. Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend to you a measure of comfort that will strengthen and sustain you during your time of sorrow.
It is during such times as these that we draw upon our faith, stand upon our scriptures, and rely upon our God. There is no question that in this and through this, God will keep you, comfort you, and sustain you. You and your family are forever in our prayers.
