Ruby Sikes Morgan

Funeral services for Ruby Sikes Morgan of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with the interment following at Arabi Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ruby, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Crisp Regional Hospital. A native of Cordele, she was the daughter of the late Theo Samuel Sikes and Susie Agnes Wright Sikes. Ruby retired from the Department of Family and Childrens Services after 35 years and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She loved exercising and staying busy. She enjoyed being outside and working in her yard and could often be seen in her others' yards, raking and just helping out. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruby is survived by her son, Rog Morgan of Cordele; two sisters, Rita Rutledge of Cordele and Quay Ward of Kathleen; two grandchildren, Heather Baker and Kolt Morgan; three great-grandchildren, Katalyna Cox, Jordyn Baker and Madyson Baker; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Morgan; siblings, Charles Sikes, Ruth Mathews and Iris Owens.
