Ruby Oeth

Ruby Lee Oeth, 66, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away on April 15, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. She was born June 29, 1956 in Evansville, IN to the late Kenneth F. and Bettye J. (Wilson) Oeth.
Ruby was a 1974 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. In her early years, she was a waitress at Wesselmans and Buslers Café's, and then later was a caregiver to the elderly. She enjoyed playing softball and volleyball in her younger years and very much still liked to watch them on television. Ruby was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She loved caring for people and was one of the most kind and compassionate people you could ever meet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and nephew, Travis Morrow.
She is survived by her brothers, Terry Oeth (Lessie) and John Oeth; sisters, Cindy Gentry, Kenna Morrow (Brian Hancock), Dottie Denning (Steve) and Mary Oeth (Wade Reinitz); nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN with Pastor Jim Allen officiating and burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Buddy Walk – Down Syndrome Indiana.
