Ruby Louise Padgett

Ruby Louise Padgett 88, of Waldorf, MD called home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2026. Ruby was born on October 4, 1937, in Olney MD. To Harry Robey Sr. and Lavinia Edwards-Robey. Ruby was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry Robey Sr. and Lavinia Edwards-Robey, sister Ruth (Betty) Robey, Brothers Harry (Preach), Charles (Bobby), Roy, and Roger Robey, son Steven Wayne Padgett SR., grandson Mikey Padgett, great granddaughter Alia Watson, and father of her 6 children Elton Padgett. Ruby is survived by her sons Mike (Carol), Charlie (Teri), and John (Kaye) Padgett, daughters Carol Chaney and Gina McIntire (Mickey). Grandchildren Wayne Padgett Jr. (Kim), Rusty Padgett (Christee), Tommy Clancey, Jake Weil (Sara), Shelia Watson (Jason), Niki Sparks (Mark), Tiffany Badeaux, Kevin Padgett (Nina), Katrina Herbert (Ivan), Eddie Padgett, Candis Black (Billy), Branden Padgett (Carly), Joe Wallace (Aidsha), Lisa Wallace, Jon Wallace, Angela Wallace, Mike McIntire (Paige), Nick McIntire (Jamie), Michelle Rawlings (Garrett), Krystyn Padgett, Vance Padgett (Maria). Ruby was also Blessed with 45 great grandchildren, 8 great- great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.

Ruby was a Strong lady who has carried herself through many obstacles and hardships in life. Ruby married at the early age of 15, having her first son at 16 followed by five more children by the age of 25. She considered her children the greatest blessing in her life. Ruby worked as a waitress at Sherrill's bakery in Washington DC for many years. Followed by Reagan and Mason and retired from Wiley Rein & Fielding.

She loved God and her Catholic faith. She always said that God was always with her helping her through life. She was patriotic and loved her country. Her face lit up when talking about how many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren she had. Spending time with her family was a precious gift and her favorite thing to do. Dancing would be a close second. May she forever rest in Heaven's peace dancing on streets of gold…
