Ruby E. Poshard

 

Ruby E. Poshard, age 90, of Eldorado but longtime New Haven resident, passed on this life, July 7, 2022 in Ferrell Hospital.  Ruby was born near New Haven on November 6, 1931 to the late Harmon and Bessie (Foster) Acord.  On October 8, 1949 she married James O. “Doggie” Poshard who preceded her in death in 2016.

Ruby was a true family person, from being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, because of her undying love for her Savior Jesus Christ.  She was a hard worker, who loved to cook, take care of her grandchildren and sing.  Ruby was always active in New Haven during  earlier years. She loved word search books, watching old TV shows like Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith.  Each night her and her sister would watch and play Wheel of Fortune.  She raised 4 daughters and helped raise many grandchildren showing her love for all.  She was a faithful member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Eldorado.  Ruby was a God-fearing woman, with a special heart and love for all.   She always had a smile and kind word for you and will be definitely missed.

Ruby is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Johnson of Equality, Tami Poshard of Kansas and Kim Godfrey of Equality.  A Son in Law, Mitch Maloney of Ridgway, a sister, Ruth Johnson of Norris City and 19 Grandchildren, 55 Great Grandchildren, 13 Great great Grandchildren, plus 3 on the way. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Maloney, son in law, Frank Johnson, grandson in law Tim Primo. Silblings Joe Acord, Freda Coleman, AnnaBelle Mills, Lily Adams, Nadine Mills, Reba Cochran.

Visitation for Ruby will be on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Cox & Son Funeral home in New Haven from 4 to 7 pm. Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM with Rev. L.D Jolly officiating.  She will then be laid to rest with her husband in Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
