The light in everyone's lives a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Ruby Salazar was born on September 7th, 1939 in Colombia to the Ana Osorio. She was a curious and intelligent child who loved learning new things. A trait which she carried with her into her adulthood and always told her children "Querer es Poder" there is power in learning. A message she empowered her family with in mastering subjects of their interest and pursuing their dreams.
On December 18th, 1965, she married her childhood sweetheart, Bernardo Salazar, and migrated to NY in 1972 to provide a better quality of life for their family. She was a home maker who loved children and cared for many youngsters in the local neighborhood.
She touched the lives of everyone she came across through her unconditional love, kindness, and humor. A resilient women who always carried a positive outlook on life and loved sharing a good joke with a bold laugh. She lived a full warm life traveling, creating beautiful hand knitted creations, warming up a slot machine at the casino, and socializing with her friends for hours on the phone or in community events.
Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Bernardo, and is survived by her children, Norella and Hamilton, her granddaughter, Briana, and extended family members.
Her pure hearted spirt is unique and rare to come by. All the love she radiated through her poetic like words and wise guidance will be heavily missed.
