Ruby Scogin Obituary
Ruby Hammond McGinnis Scogin, 89, of Colbert, GA, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024. The daughter of the late M.E. & Mamie Hammond, a life-long resident of Colbert, and member of Colbert Baptist Church. A friendly face to the community during her time at Merchants and Farmers Bank and the Colbert Pharmacy. Ever the example of unwavering faith and everyone's "Nama," she spent her life serving others in any way she could.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Lord & Stephens, Danielsville Chapel with Rev. Brad Wilson officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 to 2:00p.m., followed by a short service at the chapel, and then interment will be at Colbert Cemetery.In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by husbands, O.A. “Bill" McGinnis, Jr. and Elmer “Tobe” Scogin; daughter, Vivian Leigh McGinnis; brother, Vernon Hammond, and grandson, Keith Young.Survivors include her children, Wanda (Larry) McGinnis Mann, Lin (Steve) McGinnis Young, Randy McGinnis, and Nelson (Charlene) McGinnis; siblings, Bonnie Hammond Kincaid and Jerry (Ann) Hammond ; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, Danielsville, GA is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
