Ruby Smith Obituary
Mrs. Smith was a member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church. She liked to sing, read books, crossword puzzles and solitaire games. Her favorite shows were The Price is Right, Perry Mason and soap operas.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Smith will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 1 p.m. at New Life Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Pate officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a son, Larry Smith (Debbie) of Lancaster; two daughters, Teri Cauthen (Donnie) and Kim Pate (Douglas) all of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Jeniffer Moore (Clint), Christopher Smith (Sarah), Cody Pate and Sasha Mattox (Chad); eight great-grandchildren, Colton Pate, Jaxon Smith, Landon Smith, Tyler Moore, Alec Moore, Jace Moore, Treven Mattox and Jace Mattox; and two great-great grandchildren, Kasen Moore and Kinsly Moore. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Smith; and a sister, Mary Faile.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at New Life Freewill Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Freewill Baptist Church, 1526 Summit Avenue, Lancaster, SC 29720.
Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Smith.

I worked with Ruby two years at Grace Sewing(1995-97). I loved her laugh and love for life. We stayed in touch all these years. Ruby was a godly precious lady.
