Ruby Nell Taylor

Ruby Nell Taylor, age 86, of Alma passed away peacefully December 8th, 2025, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida after a brief illness. She was born in Bacon County on August 24,1939, to the late Charlie and Mamie Medders.

Ruby was a mother, grandmother, and friend whose humor and kindness left a lasting impact on every life she encountered. She was the heart of her family-- her home was always filled with warmth, good stories, and lots of laughter. Her humor, spunk, and lifelong love for her family and friends will never be forgotten.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Thermon Taylor, daughter Sheila Yawn, son-in-law Curtis Taylor; brothers, Robert "Bud" Medders, Doyle Medders, Albert Medders, Vernon Medders, Frank Medders, Charles "Buddy" Medders, and Tommy Medders; and sisters, Ruth Sweat, Reba Sweat, and Glenda Sue Medders.

She is survived by her children, Keith (Cindy) Taylor, Kay (Ray) Hancock, Kendra (Tommy) Lee, Terry (Julie) Taylor, and Kristy Taylor, all of Alma; her sister, Regina Hutcheson of Alma; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Brother Edmund Thrift and Josh Thrift officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Crosby Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 6-8:00 PM.

Active pallbearers include Andy Dixon, Andy Houston, Spence Nobles, Jason Medders, Christopher Rigby, and Henry Sweat.

Honorary pallbearers include Shirley Carter, Stephanie Houston, Alex Cisneros, the nursing staff of Amedisys, Clay Carter, MD and staff, Lamar's Pharmacy (James Jordan) and staff.
