Mary Anne Deen, age 90, of Alma, Georgia passed away peacefully at her residence Sunday March 15, 2026.
Anne was born in Eastman, Georgia in 1936 to Henry Ingram Robertson and Mary Alma Giddens Robertson.Her family moved from Eastman to Alma when she was a young child. She graduated from Bacon CountyHigh School in 1954, and soon afterwards, married Walter George Deen Sr. Together, they raised four children.
Anne was a joyful person who had a strong Christian faith. She attended church regularly and taught Sunday school for many, many years. Her relationship with Christ was the most important thing in her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter George Deen Sr., daughter Anita Welty (Randy) of Baxley, son Paul Deen (Debbie) of Alma, and sister Kay Taylor (Sonny) of Alma.
She is survived by her sons Walter George Deen Jr. (Debra) of Locust Grove GA, and David Deen of Alma, granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Deen and daughter-in-law Debbie Deen, both of Alma, and son-in-law RandyWelty of Baxley. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday March 19, 2026, at Rose Hill Cemetery at 3 PM with Rev. R.B. Gaskins officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the cemetery from 2:15 until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes.
