Ruby Wooten

Funeral services for Ruby Wooten age 99 of rural Wisner, NE will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE with interment in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting with the arrangements.
Ruby passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Parkview Home in Dodge, NE.
Ruby Johanna Wooten was born on August 5, 1924 on a farm northeast of Wisner, NE to Fred and Irene (Blome) Kroeger. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE. Ruby attended Cuming County Rural School District through the 8th Grade and gave the Valedictorian address at the country school graduation ceremony in West Point, NE.
In July of 1960, she was united in marriage to Victor Wooten in Evanston, IL. The couple lived in uptown Chicago until retuning to the farm in 1963. Ruby had worked at West Point Cold Storage and Walbaum's.
Ruby along with her son Timothy cared for her elderly mother Irene. Ruby enjoyed gardening, painting water color pictures, playing the organ and piano, and reading the bible.
Ruby was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, it's Ladies Aid and played the organ.
Ruby was cared for by her son Timothy for the last twelve years.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents-Fred and Irene Kroeger, husband-Victor Wooten, and siblings-Floyd Kroeger, Ethel Heider, Fern Kroger, and Wilma Kroger.
