Rudolph W. Arp

Rudolph (Rudy) W. Arp passed peacefully on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. Rudy was born to Wilhelm and Lina Mense Arp on July 22, 1937, in Ridgefield, New Jersey. Rudy worked as a CDL driver for Dellwood Dairy for 32 years.

Rudy met and married Patricia Anne Ferrara (Planz) on December 29, 1984. They ran a successful silver business called Silver Dreams. They traveled in the tristate area selling beautiful jewelry and they were well known for their products and service. Rudy loved to regal people with stories about his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

Rudy served his country in the United States Army for 6 years. He was fortunate enough to play baseball, which was his passion, for the US Army and was an avid NY Yankees fan. He and Pat spent many weekends at West Point enjoying the summer concert series with friends.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Patricia as well as his children, Deborah P. Gatti, (Claudio) and son John J. Planz, Jr. (Nancy), his grandchildren Dustin M. Smith (Lisa), Carolyn M. Gatti-Santora (Brian), Brian J. Planz (Sienna Rutledge) and Allison B. Planz and great grandchildren. Rudy is also survived by his brother Peter Arp. He is also survived by Dianna Peller and Suzanne Cefola and his daughter in law, Christine Buchanan.

Rudy is predeceased by his parents, Wilhelm and Lina Arp, his brother, William, son Dean M. Arp and sister in law Marilyn Arp.

Visitation will be held at George M. Holt Funeral Home, 50 New Main Street, Haverstraw, New York on Thursday, February 12th, 2026 from 4:00pm to 8:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 13th, 2026 at 11:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, 26 John Street, Stony Point, New York 10980. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Route 9W, Haverstraw, New York.
