Rudolph ("Rudy") V. Gomez went to his heavenly home on August 28, 2025 at 96 years of age.

Rudy was born in Kamey, Texas on October 27, 1928 to Isidro and Aurora Veliz Gomez, raised by his grandmother, Felipa Lerma Gomez and Uncle Ben Gomez. He was a lifelong resident of Victoria, Texas and he loved his family and was a devoted husband, loving father, amazing grandpa and friends to many. He worked for over 58 years as a very proud commercial truck driver with Texas Mail Service, receiving many safe driver awards. He met his beautiful wife, Susie G. Gomez and they married September 13, 1952 in Victoria, Texas, and together raising nine children and celebrated 43 years of marriage before her passing in 1996.

He and his wife, enjoyed helping others, especially their family, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Rudy was preceded in death by his devoted, loving and caring wife, Susie; his parents; brothers, Alexander Gomez, Pete Gomez and Mike Gomez, nieces and nephews, Debra Gomez Vasquez, Steven Gomez, Shelley Gomez Tipton and Manuel Flores. He's survived by his sons, Rudolph A. Gomez (Lugene), Alex P. Gomez (Rosie), of Alamo, Texas, Joseph Michael Gomez (Dora), David A. Gomez (Evelyn), Christopher Gomez (Mary) of Portland, Texas and Joel I. Gomez (Elizabeth), of Victoria, Texas, daughters, Marie Zolnosky (Alan) of Pflugerville, Texas, Dina G. Gomez (Nick) of Alamo, Texas and Lisa Marie Hernandez (Arthur) of New Braunfels, Texas. He is also survived by a sister, Lupe G. Flores of Victoria, Texas and he will be dearly missed by 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren as well as several nephews and nieces.

Services will be held at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Hwy, Victoria, Texas on Friday, September 5, 2025. Pallbearers are his son's, who carried their mother to her resting place, so it's fitting they carry their father too. There will be a visitation at 12 pm, Funeral service immediately following 1:00 pm. Private family graveside at a later date, Memorial Park Cemetery, Victoria, Texas.
