Rudolph Hamblin, 91, of Southern Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the VA Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on February 5, 1934, Rudolph lived a life marked by service, faith, and storytelling.

A proud United States Navy veteran, Rudolph served his country with honor before continuing a life of public service as a member of the State Police, from which he later retired. Even in retirement, his heart for service never waned-he dedicated his time as a volunteer chaplain at a local nursing home, offering comfort, prayer, and a listening ear to those in need.

Rudolph was well known for his gift of conversation and his love of telling stories. He had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. His joy for life showed especially during his cherished trips to the mountains, where he found peace in the beauty of nature.

He is survived by his loving family: his daughter, Jan Rowe (Tom); his son, Jack Daniel (Chasity); his sister, Phyllis Turner (Dewey); grandchildren, Austin, Braddock (Rachel), Stokes (Harley), and Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Braxton and Elijah. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alma, and his siblings Ralph Hamblin, Mayme Wilson, and Veronica Bowling.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a funeral service to begin at 3:00 p.m., at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana, 47130. Burial with be Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10:00am at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, Indiana.

Rudolph Hamblin will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
