Rudolph M. Olbrych, 81, of Amsterdam, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving goddaughter and family.

Born on January 23, 1944 in Amsterdam, New York, a son of the late Rudolph and Helen Kiuber Olbrych. He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1962.

Rudy was a lifelong Dairy Farmer on the Olbrych Family Farm in the Town of Amsterdam. He was an avid movie buff, collecting posters, lobby cards and old film. He loved watching TV, especially old Western shows and classic movies. He enjoyed sports and loved watching horse racing, golf, baseball, car racing and football, GO Giants!!! It was amazing the sports stats he could recite.

Rudy enjoyed the monthly "Guys Cards Night" with Cliff, Marc, Nate, Scott and Quinn. He was always the score keeper and loved to win the Greenbacks! He was a gentle soul with a great sense of humor. Rudy enjoyed spending time with the extended Pawlowski Family, especially all the family celebrations, holidays and dinners.

He is survived by his best friend of over 75 years, Clifford Pawlowski and his wife Barbara; his Goddaughter and her husband, Lynn and Marc Payzant, Jeff and Michelle Pawlowski, Ashley and Nick Fredericks Reardon and daughter, Sloane, Hayley, Nate and Victoria, and Hannah Pawlowski. A brother-in-Law, Melvin Mosher and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his brother and sister, George Olbrych and Barbara Mosher.

A Special Thank You to his Hospice Team: Lori and Sue for all their compassion, care, thoughtfulness, support and love during the last 9 months. You both are truly amazing, and we are forever grateful. Our Respite Care Team, Kim, Jenn and team who provided care when need the most. We are so appreciative and thankful for the wonderful care and kindness you provided.
