Rudy Flores Obituary

Rudy Flores, 78, went to be with our Lord on November 09, 2025 after bravely fighting many health issues.
SERVICES: There will be a memorial service for friends and family at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The memorial service will be officiated by Ernesto Martinez at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Interment will follow at McBride Veterans Cemetery in Roswell, NM.
Rudy was born to Max and Elisa Flores on September 18, 1947 in Roswell, NM. He attended Roswell High School and studied Business Administration at Eastern New Mexico University – Roswell. He began working odd jobs at a very young age before being drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam war, where he proudly served his country.
Upon his return from the service, he married Carmen Casarez on December 04,1970 in Roswell, NM. They have one child, Arron Flores. They would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in December.
After returning home, he worked at Holsum Bakery and then Mountain Bell, where he worked his way up from lineman to the engineering department. He retired from there after 35 years of service.
Rudy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt. He also loved playing softball and coaching the Budlight Aces. He was very diverse in his activities to including the Chisum Cowboy SASS Gun Club, where he was known as "Ol' Cranky". Rudy was also a pool enthusiast and belonged to the Roswell Pool League. He practiced and played at Cues and Cuts, where he not only played but enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends.
Even though he struggled with health issues of his own he was always a carefree and independent person who lived life on his own terms, and this was not limited to any one area of his life. He would prove this throughout the years because even though he struggled, he was headstrong and did not give up on life. He continued to fight through the pain and found ways to show up for his family and friends, providing life lessons, advice and wisdom and sometimes just a good ole laugh.
SURVIVORS: Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Rudy are his dedicated wife: Carmen Flores; his son, Arron Flores (Melissa); his grandchildren: Joseph and Erika Flores, Youllana Montoya, Ciera and Summer Walters; great-grandchildren: Miranda and Sofia Herrera. Siblings: Jimmy Flores (Terry), Sonya Rodriguez (Orlando); and many nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED: Rudy was preceded in death by Grandparents: Donicio Chavez and Ona Juarez; Max and Ermenia Flores; Parents: Max Jr. and Elisa Flores; Brother - Robert Flores; Sister – Onalisa Flores; Granddaughter – Myranda Flores; Nephews - Robert Flores, Jr., Donald Flores, and Damyn Rodriguez.
Rudy acquired many friends throughout his lifetime, and he cherished those relationships.
Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering here on Earth but instead flying free with the angels. We know that he will be waiting to welcome us into the Kingdom of the Lord when it is our time.
This tribute was lovingly written by his family.
