Rudy Garcia Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Crematory on Dec. 16, 2025.
Rudy Garcia, Sr., 64
Rudy Garcia, Sr. died December 12, 2025. He was born February 1, 1961 in Corpus Christi, Texas. A lifetime resident of Okeechobee, he was a member of the Brighton Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, gardening, and detailing vehicles. At any given time, you could catch him shopping at Eli's. Most of all, he loved to listen to his music, grilling, and spending time with his family.
Rudy was a devoted husband, loving father, and family man whose life was defined by love, generosity, and laughter. Rudy married the love of his life, Vickie Garcia, on July 22, 1979. He was an amazing husband who cherished his partner deeply, offering unwavering support, companionship, and love throughout their life together. His marriage was a foundation of strength, joy, and commitment, and his family always came first.
Above all else, he loved his children and dedicated his life to them, always placing their needs, happiness, and well-being at the center of everything he did. His home and his heart were always open to anyone in need, and he welcomed others as family without hesitation.
A natural jokester with a playful spirit, Rudy had a way of filling every room with laughter. If you were ever in his presence, you were almost certainly smiling or laughing.
He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, generosity, and joy that will live on through children, family, and all who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Vickie Garcia; parents, Carmen and Virgil Garcia; and brother, Alex Garcia.
He is survived by his sons, Rudy, Jr. (Angie), Joshua (Lizzie), Nicolas, and Manuel; daughters, Marsellina "Sally", Alex, and Adriana (Carlos); 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; six brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 at Buxton Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
