Rufina Meza Placencia, beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home on October 18, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. She was 98 years old, preceded in death by her husband, Rafael Contreras Placencia.
Born on July 30, 1927, Rufina lived a life marked by faith and unwavering devotion to her family. In 1964, she opened her first of three restaurants, Las Altenitas, beginning a remarkable journey that would span throughout four decades. Rufina remained active in the business until the young age of 72.
To those who knew her, she was the soul of every family gathering and the heart that brought everyone together. Rufina's life was a testament of her service, love, and faith. Her memory will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and generations to come.
