Rufus was born on October 31, 1967, to the Late Roosevelt Jackson Sr, and Ida Mae Jackson, and entered eternal rest on January 31, 2025. Rufus is a Locust Valley High School Graduate. Rufus was extremely bright and very athletic, kind, compassionate and very considerate to others. He always read the bible and was able to recite every word in the bible. Rufus had a love for basketball, martial arts, and engineering, constantly challenging himself. He studied engineering at New Tork Institute of Technology. Rufus was so intelligent that several professors would invite him over for dinner to continue discussions. Unfortunately, he was one semester shy of graduating when he decided to enlist in the United States Navy. Rufus was invited to study engineering at the Naval Academy in Pensacola since he scored the highest in the region on his entrance exam. He served his county proudly for 2 tours, including Desert Storm and the Gulf War, serving on the USS Guam. Following his bright career in the Navy, he went on to work for a local friend’s company as a tradesman until the perils of life overtook him. He is predeceased by his siblings Roosevelt Jackson Jr (Tracy) and Carol Nelson. Rufus is survived by his loving family: Sheila Parker, Loretta (Ronnie) Wilcox, Annette Zloczower, Andrew Jackson, Alexander Jackson, mark (Andrea) Jackson, Larry (Mila) Jackson, Gwendolyn Goodsen and Rhonnie Jackson.
