Russell Dale Davis, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Born on September 7, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, Russell was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janel Davis; his son, Steven Davis; and his parents, Oliver Dale Davis and Doris Irene Davis (nee Stevens).
Russell had a distinguished career in the die casting industry, serving as an executive for many prominent companies, including Madison Kipp Corporation, ITT Automotive, Inverness Castings, Ube Automotive, Du-Wel Metals, Paramount Die Casting, and Talon Zipper Corp. His proudest role was as Chairman of the North American Die Casting Association, a position he held with dedication and vision. A graduate of Indiana University, Russell was a lifelong learner, with a particular passion for Civil War history and genealogy.
He and Janel shared a love for travel that took them around the world, with London standing out as their favorite destination. Russell enjoyed classical music and the Blues, fly fishing, reading, collecting pens, woodworking and exploring history in all its forms. Above all, he cherished his wife and the family pets he adored over the years, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life and the companionship of those closest to him.
Russell is survived by his children, Kathy Davis, and Roxanne Davis; his stepchildren, James Stute, Suzanne (Jeff Miller) Stute, and Anton Stute; and his grandchildren, Clint (Melissa), Cerissa, Larissa, Mckenzie, Rachel, Holden, and Cassie. Further survived by his sisters Barbara Hennig and Judy Davis.
Memorials will be held in East Troy, WI and Holland, MI at a later date.
Russell's curiosity, intellect, and love for life left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his joy in learning, and the deep bond he shared with Janel, and he will be dearly missed.
