Russell Franklin Obituary
Russell Myers Franklin, 85, of Amherst County went to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 1, 2025.
He retired from Central Virginia Training School. Russell loved music and he was a member of the Billy Hunt Singers and Bethany United Methodist Church in Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry Clinton Franklin, Sr. and Irene Burch Franklin.
Surviving are his Son: Mark Franklin of Wilmington North Carolina, Sister: Shirley Franklin Grubbs of Dallas Texas, also a number of Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews, as well as Great-great Nieces and Nephews.
Services will be held at Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights Va. at 12 Noon Thursday January 9, 2025, with The Rev. Roger Powell and The Rev. Bob Parks officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be private at Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Bethany United Methodist Church or due to his generous giving nature the charity of your choice.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights is assisting the family.
