Russell "Russ" Alan Phillips, age 61, of Linton, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Linton, IN on March 27, 1962, the son of James Phillips & Thelma (Hall) Phillips.
He was a graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. He served in the United States Army for 27 years and is a member of the Linton American Legion Post #122. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his friends and family.
Russ is survived by his mother, Thelma "Billie" Phillips of Linton; children, Albert James "AJ" (Tanja) Phillips of Vincennes and Sara (Michael) Ross of West Terre Haute; grandchildren, Athena Phillips, Taylor Compton and Bella Compton; niece, Tiffany Phillips; great nephew, Landyn DeLeau as well as a brother, Mike (Tracy) Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his father and wife, Madonna Phillips.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
