Russell C. Roeder

Russell C. Roeder, 73, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Russ was the son of the late Conrad and Marie (Milazzo) Roeder. He graduated from Spellman High School and went on to build a long and successful career as a Systems Analyst. Russ devoted more than 20 years to Cigna, where he was widely respected for his expertise and sharp mind. After leaving Cigna, he continued working as a consultant for nearly a decade before retiring.

Russ was intelligent, passionate, and outspoken. He loved a good debate on just about any topic, from politics to sports to whether or not you should put sugar in your pasta sauce (a high crime in his mind)!

In recent years, Russ faced the challenges of dementia with resilience and determination. Though the illness gradually took much from him, it never diminished the love he had for his friends and family.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Amanda Roeder of Wethersfield; his sister, Barbara D'Ambrosio of Illinois, who loved him dearly; and Gina Roeder of Wethersfield, with whom he shared nearly 25 years of marriage and a lifelong family bond. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, along with friends who will miss him greatly.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Roeder.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Marlborough Health & Rehabilitation Center for the attentive and dedicated care they provided to Russ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Russell's memory.
