Russell H. Stubbe, 76, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac on August 29, 2025. He was born December 14, 1948 to Orval and Loretta (Karl) Stubbe.

Russ spent over 40 years working at Waukesha Engine Company. He received several awards for his service and time there.

Russ was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 35 years. He joined several meeting groups and spent many hours speaking to other members, supporting new and old members, and volunteering his time.

He loved the outdoors. Russ was an avid hunter and fisherman but most of all, just enjoyed simply sitting in nature. While immersed in nature, Russ would take his thoughts and put them down on paper in the form of poetry.

Russ will be dearly missed by his brother Ralph Stubbe; cousin (more like a sister) Sharon Polakowski; many cousins, other relatives, and lots of friends.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Stubbe, grandparents, and many other relatives.

SERVICES: Russ's family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Zacherl Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Russ's family would like to give a special thank you to all of the medical staff at SSM, especially the doctors and nurses on the 5th floor, and the nursing staff at the Lutheran Home on the 1st floor for all of their loving care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation.
