Rusty Lane Hill, 66, passed away on December 8, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Carthage, Missouri on September 29, 1959 to Robert Ralston and Charlotte Elaine Hill.

After graduating from Carthage High School, Rusty joined the United States Navy and was a member from 1977 – 1981.

Rusty spent the majority of his working life as a pipeline worker for nearly 35 years. He started out as an X-Ray tech and worked his way up to Natural Pipeline Chief Inspector. He was employed by Gas Gathering Specialist out of Stinett, Texas; officially retiring in 2019.

Rusty was a Golden Gloves Boxer, an FFA chaplain, and was honored as Top 10 "Missouri State Carrier of the Year" award.

Rusty's hobbies included fishing, light gambling at the casino, trying out Mom & Pop hole-in-the-wall establishments, watching westerns, and cheering on his Kansas City Chiefs, and enjoying beers with his friends.

Rusty's survivors include the one doing life with him, Judy Fredde, daughter Emily Hill, brother Carey Hill, brother-in-law Greg Johnson, mother-in-law and father-in-law Clancy and Pat Kampling, brother-in-law Chris Kampling, brother-in-law Steve Kampling (Galina), sister-in-law Janet Jones (Scott), along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held December 19, 2025 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, with memorial service beginning at 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to bring bags of M&M's in Rusty's memory, as they will pass them on to children's charities.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice for their tender and loving care they showed to Rusty.
