Ruth Jackson Abraham of Spartanburg, SC entered into eternal life with her Savior on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born in Spartanburg on January 14, 1934, to the late Broadus and Myrtle Vess Jackson and was the devoted wife of the late Gerald N. Abraham for 68 wonderful years.
She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. Ruth was a beloved switchboard receptionist with Spartanburg School District 7 for 25 years. After her retirement, Ruth became a volunteer with local hospitals, comforting people as they waited on their loved ones.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and follower of Christ. She radiated a gentle kindness, deep compassion, and heartfelt empathy to everyone she met. She loved baking, being near the water, beautiful flowers, fishing, a good HGTV show, a hot, fresh cup of coffee, her cat Beau, and most of all her family. Her sweet and loving spirit and contagious laugh will be forever missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
She is survived by her children, Daniel H. Abraham (Cheri Abraham) and Andrea L. Abraham; grandchildren, Michael D. Abraham (Devan Manning-Abraham), Gregory T. Abraham (Erin Ledbetter-Abraham), and McKenna A. Hardwicke (David Hardwicke); numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, Olin Dodd. Along with her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by her brother, George H. Jackson.
The family will be at the home of Daniel and Cheri Abraham from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Morningside Baptist Church, 897 S Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Burial will be private.
