October 6, 1948 - February 26, 2026
EL DORADO, Kansas - Dr. Larry L. Abraham's life began on October 6, 1948, in Wichita, KS, the son of Francis and Idell (Shadid) Abraham. Larry went on to earn his doctorate from the Illinois School of Podiatry. He operated a successful practice in El Dorado for over 45 years, serving the Butler County and surrounding areas. He was united in marriage to Judith "Judy" Webster on August 22, 1987. Larry enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially golfing. He had a real passion for cheering on KU, the Kansas City Chiefs, and Wichita State. He was a proud supporter of Butler Community College athletics and attended many of their sporting events. For many years, Larry served as the team doctor for Butler football and basketball, caring for thousands of Butler athletes. He was inducted into the Grizzly Athletic Hall of Fame twice and became one of the most prolific individual donors in the history of Butler athletics. Larry also loved watching his nephews play sports and cherished the time he spent with his family. He is survived by sisters Joyce Farha of Wichita and Judy George of Wichita; sister-in-law Phyllis Abraham. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, Cheri (Keith Johnston) Farha, Marc (Cindy) Farha, Craig (Nanette) Abraham, Scot (Gina) Abraham, Todd (Jennifer) George, Holly (Tom) Tacheny, Kristi (Steve) Taylor, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Larry passed away on February 26, 2026, in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his parents, Francis and Idell, and his brother, Dr. Francis Abraham. Friends may gather with the family from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, March 4, at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home in El Dorado. Trisagion and Funeral service will be held on Thursday evening, March 5, at 7 pm at St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral, 7515 E. 13th Street, in Wichita, KS. A private burial will take place on Friday. Memorial contributions in Larry's name may be directed to the Butler Foundation, Dr. Larry and Judy Abraham Athletic Scholarship, or to St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral.
