Ruth Medley Adams, 78, of Halifax, passed away on October 27, 2025. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia, on November 6, 1946, to the late James Roy Medley and the late Opal Adams Medley.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lisa Gail Adams of Halifax; her sister, Nera Lee Hunt of Mechanicsville; two sisters-in-law, Diane Medley and Rosann Oakes; Brother-in-law Kirby Blair and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas “Nick” Adams; two sisters, Kitty Blair and Lois Crewdson; and two brothers, Jimmy Medley and Ronald Perkins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel, with Vincent Medley officiating. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
