Ruth Ann Stern, 83 of Lititz, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Born in Lancaster, Ruth was the daughter of the late John and Esther Kilhefner Stern. Ruth is survived by cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, John.
Upon graduation from Warwick High School, and Greenville College, Greenville, Illinois in 1963, she taught fourth grade in the Hempfield School District. She also helped in two family businesses, one of which was the former Cozy Nook Motel, and later became co-owner of Hartford Manor Apartments in Neffsville. Ruth Ann also was self-employed as a domestic engineer for many years.
Having enjoyed traveling, she spent many summers touring through out the U.S. and also visited 20 foreign countries. Ruth Ann also loved the out-of-doors and her flower gardens. Her yearly trips to the beach visiting friends was another of her favorite things to do. Being with her friends and helping them gave her great joy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ruth Ann’s Graveside Service at Chiques Cemetery, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Ruth Ann’s memory to: Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
