Ruth Apicello

Ruth (Licho) Apicello, age 86, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the comfort of her home. She was the loving wife of the late Nicholas Apicello.

Born in Waterbury on March 13, 1939, Ruth was the daughter of the late Ramadan and Fatima (Ali) Licho. She worked as a kitchen aide at Southmayd Home for over ten years where she made lasting friendships. In her later years, Ruth found joy and companionship at the Willow Plaza Senior Community Center. She especially treasured the time she spent with her dear friends, Chris and Paula, whose friendship and care brought warmth and comfort to her days.

Ruth is survived by her sons Robert Apicello with whom she made her home and Nicholas Apicello and his wife Megan of Waterbury. She leaves her brother Ray Licho and his wife Tammy of Watertown as well as several nieces and nephews.
