Ruth Awad, 73, of Fremont, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025 at Countryside Care Center, Fremont. Ruth was born in Fremont, Ohio on July 31, 1952, the daughter of Carl and Viriginia (Nickel) Gill.
Ruth had worked for WT Grant Store in Potter Village in Fremont and later for Modern Finance before she retired. Her hardworking nature and commitment to her job were undeniable. Outside of work, Ruth found joy in bowling, a hobby she thoroughly enjoyed and often shared with her friends and family.
Ruth's marriage to Sam Awad on September 3, 1983, was a testament to her supportive nature and the love they shared was evident to all who knew them. In addition to her husband Sam, Ruth is survived by her step-children, Dina (Kim) Awad of Kettering, Ohio and Ramy (Lora) Awad of Urbana, Ohio and Col. Joseph (Kendall) Awad of Colorado, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nieces and five nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Ken, Larry and Carl Gill. Visitation will be held at Auxter-Recker Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St, Clyde, Ohio, 43410 on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions in honor of Ruth Awad may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Ruth's life was a beacon of compassion, support, thoughtfulness, and reliability. As we remember and celebrate Ruth, we encourage all who knew her to share their memories, stories, and photographs on her memorial page. These shared moments will serve as a lasting tribute to a life well-lived and a woman well-loved.
