Ruth Mae Barnes

Ruth Mae Barnes, 82 passed away January 26th, 2026 in Stigler. She was Born September 22nd, 1943 in Keota to her parents Porter and Kathleen (Storment) Porter. She grew up at Star and moved to California in 1965. She was married to Archie Barnes on February 23, 1963. She moved back to Oklahoma in 1982 and began working for Tyson Foods in Van Buren, Ark. until retirement. She loved reading and being with her grandkids. She is survived by 1 daughter, Rhonda Nixon and husband Norman; 1 son, Donnie Barnes and companion Linda Baker; 8 Grandchildren, Jessie Morris and wife Tina, Steven Morris and wife Kayla, Justin Barnes, Ashley Barnes, Jean Burson, Franklin Nixon and wife Melissa, Shaneese Tilly and husband Lane, Alice Welch and husband T.J; Great Grandkids, Beth Morris, Kayce Morris, Ely Morris, Caleb Barnes, Delilah Barnes, Emily Welch, Rilee Welch, Doc Welch; 4 Sisters, Janie Keller, Margaret Mayfield, Carolyn White, Lona Swanson, 5 Brothers, Porter Storment Jr., Alvin Storment, Richard Storment, Jerry Storment, Vernon Storment; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her parents, Porter and Kathleen Storment; Husband, Archie Barnes; 1 Son, Thomas Barnes; Sisters, Christine Rouse, Kathryn Storment, Robin Storment; Brothers, John Storment, Randall Storment, and Manual Storment. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 30th, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at the River of Life Church in Stigler. Pastor Jack Sloan officiating .The Eulogist will be Reverend Blake Bailey. Interment following at Keota Cemetery, Keota. Pallbearers will be Donnie Barnes, Jessie Morris, Steven Morris, Tiny Fitzer, Franklin Nixon, T.J. Welch.
